Interview published in “Palma Beach” Magazine

Recently, the magazine dedicated to the transformation Playa de Palma, Palma Beach, published the following interview:

Where do you find your inspiration?

Look, I’m going to be very unoriginal and I’m going to answer you in the words of Pablo Picasso: “Inspiration exists, but it has to find us working”. I, in fact, find it working.

What project would you like to do if you had no boundaries?

I am very fortunate, and Mallorca has provided me with almost every type of project on a professional level, even creating the first 5 Star Hotel in Playa de Palma, initiating the transformation of the area.

Is there an architect you admire?

Le Corbusier

A building?

Santa Maria del Fiore and particularly the Dome by Filippo Brunelleschi.

Any hobbies?

Golf, Olympic pistol shooting and sailing.

Your favourite food?

Grilled local fish and seafood.

Is there an architect you admire?

Seagrams Gin and Schweppes Tonic in a balloon glass, with a lot of ice and half the dose of gin.

What do you like most about Playa de Palma?

Begoña, my wife! who was born there. Well, I guess that wasn’t the question. I think it has a lot of charm because the residents live with tourists and workers and, on the other hand, along the seafront you will find houses, shops, restaurants and hotels…

How do you see Playa de Palma in 10 years?

The path that has been chosen is the right one: let it develop naturally, improving infrastructures and encouraging private initiatives. I think that in ten years’ time the improvements will be very evident. As they say: this painting will not ever be completely painted…
